ES Notes July 2011

In this issue of ESNotes we would like to share with you some of the exciting recent product introductions and enhancements including some from past ES Notes:

  • Epic Polar sub-2 micron a stationary designed for the separation of polar compounds
  • GreenSep DEAP a new stationary phase for SFC chromatography.
  • Extending Column Life Part 1 – Why columns fail and how to prevent it.

All designed to be technically informative and practically useful.

Epic Polar is a true base deactivated reverse phase column and does not contain any undesirable ion exchange or mixed mode characteristics. Epic Polar 1.8 um can retain highly water-soluble compounds such as small organic acids, water-soluble vitamins, purines and pyrimidines, cathecholamines and other polar compounds.

ES Industries strives to produce HPLC columns that provide the chromatographer with the longest possible column lifetime. However, columns do inevitable fail at some point. There are many causes for the failure of HPLC columns. It’s the goal of this series to look at the possible causes of column failures and to offer solutions. In this first part the mobile phase and sample contributions to column failure will be discussed.

Harmony™ exhibits identical selectivity to the Waters Symmetry® HPLC column. Many chromatographers use Harmony™ when looking for a Symmetry® equivalent. Harmony™ will offer long column lifetime and excellent reproducibility. Harmony™ is engineered to the tightest specifications and is available in large scale bulk.

GreenSep DEAP stationary phase has proven superior to conventional stationary phases (such as diol, cyano etc...) in the areas of separation selectivity, peak shape and loading capacity.

GreenSep DEAP is a diethyl amino propyl stationary phase with superior performance to conventional amino phases.
